The FLIR ITCLEVELISUAS is a 4-day, in-person ITC Level I sUAS thermography certification course geared to individuals or corporations that want to focus on training for aerial IR inspections and applications.
- 4-day course designed for sUAS pilots who need background, skills and knowledge to properly capture and interpret thermal images in flight
- Format: In-person/Classroom
- Instructors: ITC's Level III, ASNT Level III, or EPRI Level III
- Level I thermal certification geared towards individuals or corporations that want to focus on aerial IR inspections and applications
- Format: In-person/Classroom
- Four-day course designed for sUAS pilots who need background, skills and knowledge to properly capture and interpret thermal images in flight
- Course taught by domestic and international training staff, including several ITC's Level III, ASNT Level III, or EPRI Level III instructors certified by ASNT and BINDT, with over 100 years combined experience
Level I sUAS Topics:
- Applying thermography theory, science, and techniques including interpretation of radiometric survey results specific to aerial applications
- Learning how to plan flight altitudes and range-to-targets for accurate thermal information
- Exploring sUAS anatomy and inspection points
- Understanding sUAS IR solutions and specifications to help students make informed decisions as to which platforms and IR cameras are best for flight applications
- Learning how to maximize post-processing software for image analysis, report generation, and video editing

The FLIR ITC-LVL-I-SUAS-CLASS (ITCLEVELISUAS) is an in-person, ITC Level I Thermography Certification Course for sUAS Inspections. This course is geared to the individual or corporation focused on training for aerial IR inspections and applications. It is a four-day course designed for the sUAS pilot who needs the background, skills, and knowledge to properly capture and interpret thermal images from the air. Its topics include infrared science, popular applications, sUAS safety, and how to select the proper camera and lens combination that applications require. An overview of image analysis and reporting is provided for the latest FLIR software.
This Level I ITC course covers the learning objectives, contact hours, and written exam requirements outlined by outlined by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing. This curriculum was developed - and will be taught - by ITC's Level III, ASNT Level III, or EPRI Level III Instructors. ITC's domestic and international training staff includes several Level III thermographers certified by ASNT and BINDT, with over 100 years of combined IR thermography applications experience.
Please Note: It is highly recommended that students view a free, on-demand course that is specific to FLIR imagers they already own, or are interested in investing in, depending on the application. Also note that on-demand courses may not be available for all camera models.
