The Optical Wavelength Labs WS-MDSDFC WaveSource Quad Wavelength Optical Light Source (FC Connector) offers fiber optic professionals a cost-effective option for high quality multimode and singlemode fiber testing in a compact, handheld package. Equipped with temperature-compensated outputs, the WaveSource light source provides high output and stability. The quad-wavelength WS-MDSDFC has all four wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, 1550) in one unit.
The WaveSource light source is simple to operate with an intuitive four-button interface controlling power, port selection, transmission mode, and wavelength/AUTO selection. LED indicators highlight the selected source port and verify that battery power is sufficient to maintain the calibrated output power. Wavelength is indicated by 7-segment LED display.
The WaveSource has two transmission modes: Continuous Wave (CW) for accurate temperature-stabilized fiber optic tests; and modulated mode. Modulated mode provides for an auto-testing function when used with the Fiber OWL 4, Micro OWL 2, and WaveTester power meters (all sold separately). The AUTO mode allows simultaneous dual-wavelength testing, cutting testing time in half over single-wavelength sources.
The WS-MDSDFC WaveSource light source comes configured with FC connector ports, as well as a protective rubber boot, re-chargeable Lithium Polymer battery and charger, NIST-traceable certificate of calibration, and CD-ROM with operations manual.
