The Megger VF2 AC Voltage Detector is a compact pen-style instrument used to identify the presence of live AC voltages from 100 V to 600 V at 50 or 60 Hz. Voltage is capacitively detected, signaled on the VF2 by the illumination of a bright red LED situated within the white nylon tip. The VF2 additionally features an audible warning device actuated simultaneously to the red LED. The VF2 furthermore incorporates a flashlight torch. Extended battery life is achieved by the use of a bright-white LED.

Applications

The Megger VF2 can be used for identifying the presence of AC voltage at socket outlets, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, luminaries, wires and cables. It can identify breaks in conductors by tracing along the cable from the source to the point where the indicator no longer illuminates; and also identify a blown fuse while in circuit.
