The FLIR ITCLEVELIPUBLICSAFETY is a 4-day, in-person ITC Level I sUAS public safety thermography certification course for public safety professionals. Students will learn the thermography foundations necessary for effective law enforcement, fire, HAZMAT, and search/rescue.

- Instructors: ITC's Level III Instructors with FAA 107 Certificates
- Level I thermal certification provides focused theoretical and practical training on sUAS aerial IR imagery for Public Safety Departments, such as Law Enforcement, Fire, HazMat, Search and Rescue, and Emergency Management operations
- Format: In-person/Classroom
- Four-day course introduces world of aerial infrared thermography, describing potential applications, equipment/camera requirements, science behind technology, and Public Safety report writing, and condition monitoring / predictive maintenance applications
- Course taught by ITC's Level III Instructors, with FAA 107 Certificates and extensive experience
Level I sUAS Public Safety Topics:
- Understanding basics of IR science and heat transfer theory
- Evaluating common IR misconceptions and new user error preventions
- Discovering which camera/lens combination is most appropriate for your application
- Learning effective camera operation techniques for successful detection, recognition, and identification procedures
- Engaging in safe flight planning and troubleshooting
- Understanding aircraft systems
- Facilitating sUAS program maintenance
Accreditation:
- ASNT's Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1-A (provided it is consistent with employer's Written Practices)
The FLIR ITC-LVL-I-SUASPS-CLASS (ITCLEVELIPUBLICSAFETY) is an in-person, ITC Level I Thermography Certification Course for sUAS Public Safety Inspections. This course teaches mission-critical training for the public safety entity looking to integrate thermal imaging into their flight operations. Students will get training from leaders in the thermography world, covering the ways in which infrared imaging can benefit law enforcement, fire, hazmat, search rescue, and other emergency management operations.
Students will participate in four full days of extensive thermography and sUAS flight procedure training. They will combine concepts they learn from classroom-based lectures, instructor demonstrations, and hands-on lab exercises.
This Level I ITC course covers the learning objectives, contact hours, and written exam requirements outlined by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 and CP-189 of the American Society for Non Destructive Testing/ As such, this course is suitable for use by an employer to certify a passing student under the ASNT's Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A (provided it is consistent with the employer's Written Practices).
Please Note: It is highly recommended that students view a free, on-demand course that is specific to FLIR imagers they already own, or are interested in investing in, depending on the application. Also note that on-demand courses may not be available for all camera models.
