The DSP-2000 provides input protection from live ISDN circuits. It tests NEXT from both ends (to 155 MHz) and can detect and exclude sources of noise from its measurements - ensuring accuracy. Its rugged construction makes it perfect for on-site use while its bright, backlit display allows it to be used in those hard-to-see locations. With the accompanying, free Windows-based DSP-LINK software you can quickly and easily upload all cable test results directly to your PC. Certify Cabling If you're installing or maintaining high-speed networks such as Fast Ethernet, the Fluke DSP-2000 CableAnalyzer™ is the right test tool for the job. This digital cable tester, from the popular Fluke DSP Series, enables you to certify a cabling plant, troubleshoot a problem, or re-certify moves, adds, and changes, with the touch of a button.Based on Fluke's superior digital test technology, the DSP-2000 fully complies with all current test standards. It also offers powerful diagnostic capabilities such as the "Time Domain Crosstalk" (TDXT) Analyzer, which quickly pinpoints subtle defects resulting from bad connections, poor workmanship, or improper cabling. The DSP-2000 CableAnalyzer:
Simplify Troubleshooting Older analog cable scanners may not guarantee cabling performance in new, high-speed networks. Not only does the DSP-2000 let you certify these high-speed links with Accuracy Level II - the highest level of confidence - but its unique FAULT INFO feature shows you exactly where the link fails. The diagnostics are displayed in a graphic representation and in plain language. So, whether it's poor workmanship, a bad patch cord, or improper cabling, FAULT INFO lets you know how to get your link ready for the demands of high-speed networking.
Manage Test Results
Not only does CableManager allow for simple PC to DSP Series communication and downloading of Autotest reports, but it can sort and search through several fields such as Cable ID, Site, Pass/Fail, etc. CableManager provides the information you need to troubleshoot your network and allows you to quickly organize all your information regarding moves, adds, and changes.
Creating projects With CableManager you can create a project for each of your customers. For example, during the day you visit three different sites and save cable tests results from each site. At the end of the day, you can quickly import the saved data from your cable tester and sort the results by site and create a new project or append to an existing project for each site/customer.
Importing data from the DSP Series cable testers to your PC has never been so
easy! With CableManager you just hook up your DSP Series cable tester and click
the Import button on the main toolbar. Organizing Your Projects CableManager lets you organize your reports to fit your style. When the reports are imported into your project, you will see the report summaries listed in the top half of the window. The bottom half shows the full Autotest results for the first report in the summary list. CableManager also has vertical and horizontal scroll bars allowing you to easily move through your test reports.CableManager also lets you move through your reports by using the First, Previous, Next, and Last buttons. Sorting Your Reports With sorting you can quickly and easily sort your reports to find the cabling information that you need. For example, if you needed a list of all cabling links that failed, you could sort by Pass/Fail results and customer site. CableManager provides you with multiple sorting fields to give you maximum flexibility in organizing your data. Available sorting fields include: site, operator name, pass/fail results, cable ID, headroom, length and date/time. Two sorting options are available:
Appending Files Do you ever need to add new cable test reports to an existing file or customer's records? No problem with CableManager - you just append the new reports to an existing project. For example, you have a team of installers who are testing and certifying cabling plants at multiple sites. At the end of the day, someone needs to organize all the data. The cable testers contain reports from four customer sites, two of which are new sites. With CableManager, this task is simple:
You're done! With CableManager, a task which used to take you hours is now finished in minutes. Saving Reports/Projects to Print Later You are in a hurry. You only have enough time to download your test reports from your DSP Series tester. You can accomplish this task in two minutes or less. Just download your test reports from your DSP cable tester and save them to a new CableManager project. When you have more time, come back to CableManager and retrieve the project you saved earlier. You can now organize and print your test reports.Viewing Your Reports CableManager allows you to view your test reports as complete Autotest reports or report summaries.Autotest reports give you the details of each of your reports. You can see the data for all tests: wiremap, length, impedance, propagation delay, delay skew, resistance, attenuation, next, next @ remote and more. Report summaries give you an overview of all your test reports. You can quickly scan the report summary and determine items such as which tests passed or failed. CableManager also allows you to add "totals" to your printed reports. The totaled items are length, which gives you a total length of all your printed reports, number of reports printed, and the number of passing and failing reports. You can also add a 60-character heading that appears on the printed summaries and choose the size of the font to be used for your printouts. Printing Your Test Reports With CableManager you can print any or all of the reports or report summaries. CableManager allows you to print reports from the following sources:
Editing the Report Headers CableManager allows you to change the report header information for each of your reports. For example, if you accidentally entered the wrong information for "Cable ID" in some of your reports, you can quickly change the information in the report's header. Compatibility with DSP-LINK CableManager can import all data (CSV or TXT format) previously saved with a version of Fluke DSP-LINK. Monitor 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX NetworksWith the DSP-2000, you can monitor both 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX networks to immediately identify if the cable link is the source of the problem. This saves time and assures that your high-speed network is ready to go. Find active ports, measure utilization and collisions, and detect jabbering workstations, all with a single test.Test Fiber Optic Cables When paired with the optional Fluke DSP-FTK Fiber Test Kit, the DSP-2000 detects bad connections, bad splices, broken fibers, and loss of power from bends and fiber-type mismatches. It precisely measures power loss from fiber optic cables in dB with digital accuracy, and measures optical power in dBm or W.The Fiber Test Kit includes an Optical Power Meter (DSP-FOM), a combination 850/1300 nm Fiber Optic Source, patch cords and a coupler. Other laser and power optical sources are also available. |
