chain, through splitters, or in shorted cables
- Check continuity of a
circuit
- Optimized for use with coaxial cabling systems, built-in
F-connectors
- Cables terminated to equipment or splitters can be traced
with high power coil mode
- High current (compared to standard tone generators) makes
it possible to trace terminated or even shorted cables.
- Pots simulator, talk battery.
- Line voltage, line current and dial tone.
- Status indicators for off-hook and shorts
- Low and high power tone generator
- Probe mode for conventional tone tracing
- Coil mode for terminated coax tracing
- Three tone outputs
- Constant output (100%) in all modes for the life of the
battery
- Auto-off in any mode

The field proven Tonax™ Coax Tone
Generator is optimized to tone on coaxial cable systems as well as
for phone and data cabling. The compact and rugged Tonax includes a
high power tone generator mode that enables tracing through
ungrounded splitters or to equipment as well as tracing terminated
or shorted coax cables. Probe mode is used for conventional tone
tracing. The low power tone generator modes up plies tone voltage
and current comparable to common tone generators. The POTS simulator
mode supports line voltage, line current, and dial tone functions
with a talk battery performance that performs better than common
tone generators.
Datacom contractors, telco installation and maintenance technicians,
enterprise technicians, and cable installers and contractors alike
value the tone strength, ability to tone and trace through
splitters, multiple interfaces (phone, data, and coax), and generous
talk battery capability of Tonax.
The high power coil mode tone generator signal provides several
benefits for coaxial cable tracing. Cables terminated to equipment
or splitters can be traced by plugging the cable into the
F-connector on the Tonax™. The high current (relative to standard
tone generators) makes it possible to trace the terminated or even
shorted coaxial cables. The Resi-Tracer’s™ coil tracing mode is
required for optimum tracing of these signals.
The Probe mode is provided for compatibility with conventional
voltage tracing probes and ground loop tracing. |
