| The SMB100A is designed to set a new standard in the
mid-range. It incorporates the good performance of the predecessor SML, adds
new features and puts it all in a compact housing. One of the major steps is
for sure the extended frequency range up to 6 GHz. So the new instrument
also covers the interesting bands between 3 and 6 GHz which are used by e.g.
WiMAX, WLAN but also pulsed applications can be often found in this range.
With the SMB100A, we will also introduce a new service concept allowing
customers to decide if they want to perform it on their own or use certified
R&S service sites. This opens up the access to many military oriented
customers who prefer to service the instruments on their own. Best
