Dirt, dust, and other particles on fiber end faces are the primary causes for troubleshooting in optical networks. In addition, most field test failures can be attributed to dirty connectors. JDSU Fiber Inspection and Cleaning Kits enable quick and easy visual inspection to determine whether fiber connectors are truly clean before they are mated. Proactively inspecting and cleaning fiber connectors, enables technicians to reduce network troubleshooting and downtime, optimizes signal performance, and prevents network damage.

JDSU provides the industry’s most complete solution for inspecting and cleaning fiber with a combination of all the necessary equipment that technicians need to ensure the integrity of optical connections. These convenient kits address the vast array of inspection and cleaning needs in today’s field applications.

For inspection, each kit comes equipped with a probe microscope, a portable handheld HD3 video display, and four precision inspection tips to inspect both patch cords and connectors located behind a bulkhead. For cleaning, each kit includes two bulkhead/patch cord cleaning tools, connector cleaning solvent, and lint-free wipes. All contents are provided in a compact and secure carrying case, providing a safe, portable, and convenient solution for fiber technicians.

Kit Components: Fiber Inspection
The JDSU video fiber inspection probe and handheld display system is used to inspect both “male” (patch cord) and “female” (behind a bulkhead) sides of a fiber interconnect. Both the probe and display fit comfortably in a users' hand for portability and easy operation. Various interchangeable tips enable optimized inspection for different connector types and applications. The FBP series probe provides dual (200x and 400x) magnification and a selection of over 350 different inspection tips. FBE series probes provide a more economical option with single magnification (200x or 400x) and a selection of common tip configurations. Both configurations are integrated with a compact HD3 series display, which includes a 1.8-inch TFT LCD to provide a portable inspection solution for fiber technicians.
