MIT1525 15 kV DC Diagnostic Insulation Resistance Tester

The Megger MIT1525 15 kV DC Diagnostic Insulation Resistance Tester for the testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment. Enclosed in a tough case, it is both smaller and lighter than its predecessors, making it even easier to carry and store.

Safety rating is not compromised on the MIT1525 range with all terminals safety rated to CATIV 1000 V to 3000 m. A range of 5 kV and 10 kV test leads are available, plus dedicated 15 kV test leads which are double insulated with clips designed for 15 kV creepage paths. The 15 kV leads are supplied in a holdall.

The MIT1525 range has a dual case design which includes a tough outer shell to protect the tester from knocks and drops, and an inner fire retardant case. It has an IP 65 rating when the case is closed, eliminating moisture and dust ingress.

An intuitive user interface helps to ensure that no time is lost trying to remembering how to use the MIT1525. Simplicity of operation is achieved with two rotary switches, and the large backlight display enables multiple results to be displayed simultaneously. A graphical quick start guide is provided inside the lid to assist any first-time users.

Five preset voltage ranges are provided in insulation test mode, as well as a user settable lock voltage range. Preconfigured diagnostic tests include Polarisation Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Dielectric Discharge (DD), Stepped Voltage (SV) and Ramp Test. Advanced memory storage includes time/date stamping of results, logging of data, and recalling results on-screen. A fully isolated USB interface is used for safe transfer of data to the asset management software.

The Insulation Resistance (IR) test is a quantitative test indicating the effectiveness of a product's electrical insulation. Applications include cables, transformers, motors/generators, circuit breakers and bushings. Common insulation tests are the "spot test", a 1 minute IR test, and a 10 minute Polarisation Index (PI) test.

Note: Wearing suitably rated HV gloves and other personal protection equipment is required while testing.

Note: The design of the lead sets is intended to facilitate connection to a variety of de-energized systems for the purpose of making insulation resistance measurements. In all cases it is the responsibility of the user to employ safe working practices and verify that the system is safe before connection. Even isolated systems may exhibit significant capacitance which will become highly charged during the application of an insulation test. This charge can be lethal and connections, including the leads and clips, should never be touched during the test. The system MUST be safely discharged before touching connections.

DCM340 AC/DC Digital Clamp Meter

The Megger DCM340 AC/DC Digital Clamp Meter is a highly versatile instrument, ideal for use in the installation, maintenance, monitoring, or checking of AC or DC electrical systems and equipment. Current measurement, combined with the comprehensive and accurate multimeter functions of the DCM340 clamp meter eliminates the need to carry both instruments at once.

The DCM340 is highly versatile in its measurement range. It is capable of measuring AC and DC current up to 600 A; AC and DC voltage up to 600 V; resistance up to 400 Ω; and frequency up to 400 HZ.

The large, clear digits on the DCM340's numeric display are complemented by the high-resolution digital bar graph, useful for indicating trending and measurement fluctuations. The backlight allows users to see in poorly lit areas, such as distribution cupboards and corners of switchrooms. The data-hold feature enables its use on difficult access cables, where otherwise the display may be impossible to see. Min/Max hold provides the ability to store the maximum and minimum DC or RMS values over a period of time. While storage is taking place, either the present, maximum or mini-mum value can be displayed. Peak hold stores the maximum and minimum peak value of an AC signal at a 10 ms sample rate. The auto-off feature automatically places the meter in power-save mode after 30 minutes from power-on, but this can be disabled if required for min/max measurements. Using the Relative mode (REL), a stable value can be stored, the instrument zeroed out, and then any variation from that value can be displayed as a direct measurement relative to it.

The DCM340 is safety rated to IEC 61010-1 Cat III 600 V, and is drop-tested onto a hard surface for up to 1.2m.
